Sit and Start - Week 9

Sit

Matthew Stafford, QB (Det) - Stafford was lights out last week, throwing for a total of 4 TD's, but don't expect this type of production vs. the New York Jets pass defense.  Last week New York shut Aaron Rodgers for only passing 170 yards and 0 TD's.  Expect a similar result from Stafford this week.

Roy Williams, WR (Dal) - Some of you got really lucky with Roy Williams early in the season.  He had some very productive games, but with the Cowboys out of the playoff picture look for them to continue developing Dez Bryant, which will result in fewer looks for Williams.  If you haven't traded him yet, do it now.

Dwayne Bowe, WR (KC) - This week he'll be going against the Oakland Radiers, which surely means he will have one of the best shut down corners in the league on him.  If you have better options, play them this week.

Matt Hasselbeck, QB (Sea) - He is injured and has been ruled out this week.  Do not start him.

Start

Desean Jackson, WR (Phi) - Reports from Philadelphia are that Jackson will play this week barring any setbacks.  Look for Philadelphia to get him involved often.  Remember Vick is back and Jackson is his favorite target.

Tom Brady, QB (NE) - He is playing against a Cleveland defense that is allowing 244 pass yards a game, 26th in the league.  Look for Brady to pass often to exploit their terrible pass defense.

Jason Witten, TE (Dal) - Witten started the season off slow, but has put together two really nice productive games together.  Keep expecting the same as he is the perfect safety valve for Jon Kitna.  In fact if he is not on your team, I'd try to trade for him now.  He'll be the perfect commodity during championship week, as you know the Cowboys won't be resting their starters for the playoffs.

Jamaal Charles, RB (KC) - Charles will be playing against the Raiders who are allowing 127 rush yards per game.  If you were even thinking about benching him, don't!

Chicago Def/St - They are playing the Bills this week who are in the bottom 25 in pass yards, yards, and points per game.

Keep an eye on

Keep an Eye On

Austin Collie, WR (Ind) - He has been Manning's favorite target all season, but missed last week due to injury.  Yesterday he went through the whole day of pracitce and all signs point to him playing Sunday.  We'll update as soon as we hear for sure.

Donte Stallworth, WR (Bal) - He is expected to play this week, but will be down on the depth chart.  If you have room to add him, do it.  Just don't expect any real production out of him for a week or two.

Vincent Jackson, WR (SD) - He has reported to the team, but still has to sit out 3 games.  That puts him in line to start in week 12 vs the Indianapolis Colts.  If you are in the playoff hunt, pick him up.  He may be the star that gets you the Championship Trophy.

Ipod App - Fantasy Monster Lite

This post was taken from http://techenough.blogspot.com/.

As always I am here to offer you a preview at a free application that is available on both the iphone and ipod touch.  Today's applications is for all you fantasy sports players out there.  It is called Fantasy Monster Lite.  Now it is called lite, because it is not the full version (We'll get into what that means later).  But Fantasy Monster is a must have for any fantasy player that uses yahoo or espn for their fantasy leagues.  This application actually handles all your leagues for you.  All you have to do is sign in with your yahoo or espn username and password and it will show you all your leagues.  The great thing is it manages not only all your football leagues, but all your basketball leagues, baseball leagues, etc.  Meaning no more having to swap between apps for sports!  Now the lite version does have a few drawbacks.
Basically you can't add, drop or trade players unless you have their full version which will cost you $5. But you can access live stats, scores, player news, injures, headlines, your league message board, transactions and even your league settings.  This app has it all.  Now if you are a fantasy player and do not have this app yet, then enjoy these screen shots.  After you do, go get the app!

Trade 'em and Get 'Em

Every week we are wowed by a player who seemingly came out of nowhere to make a claim to fame.  In a frenzy we are adding them on a whim without giving much thought to why the breakout occurred.  Sometimes you win fantasy championships from it and sometimes the player you were so excited about finds the waiver wire two weeks later (think Brandon Jackson earlier this year).  The fantasy football community thought that any starting running back for the Packers would have huge success, so they added him without consequence.  The smart fantasy footballers traded him that week getting huge returns.  Two weeks later you couldn't give him away.
In this post we are going to look at some players who have either made an impact lately or are should.  Some of these players you should get/keep and others trade if you have them.

Trade 'Em

Mike Sims-Walker, WR (Jac) -  Mike has a game like this every year.   The truth is he can have terrific games against so/so corners, but if you put him against a good corner he will be shut out.  His value is high right now as people are imagining him as a true number 1 wide receiver when he is not.  Trade him while he has value.

Marcedes Lewis, TE (Jac) - A case could be made to keep him, it really depends on your fantasy point structure.  In a PPR league you should trade him.  In a TD heavy league he might be worth keeping.  Remember he is only averaging 40 yards per game and has a TD in only half of those games.  Either way if you can trade him straight up for a player like Jason Witten who should be better overall the rest of the season, do it now.

Jason Campbell, QB (Oak) - He has strung together two nice games throwing for 4 TD's and 0 INT's against the 7th and 29th ranked pass defenses in the league.  Too bad Tom Cable has announced that Bruce Gradkowski will be the starter when he returns from injury.  If I were you I would focus on him throwing for a league best 310 yards this week as well as his 4 TD's over the last two games.

Get 'Em

Jon Kitna, QB (Dal) -  His stats weren't the prettiest as he threw for 4 INT's and only 1 TD, but the stats don't tell you everything.  What you didn't see is that 3 of those INT's were in and out of his WR's hands.  If you discount those, then Kitna really only threw 1 INT that was his fault and could have actually added to his already ridiculous 381 yards thrown.  If we have learned anything, it is that the Cowboys aren't afraid to let him air it out.

Jason Witten, TE (Dal) - If you can trade for him, do it.  In his las two games with Kitna he has posted his best two games of the season.  Expect more of the same as he has proven to be Kitna's safety valve.

LaGarret Blount, RB (TB) - He showed this week why he should be the started over incumbent Cadillac Williams.  He got the ball 22 times and ran for 122 yards and 2 TD's.  For the season he is averaging 5.2 yards per carry.  Even though the coach will not claim him the starter you should go forward assuming he is.

Daunte Stallwort, WR (Bal) - Although he has missed the entire season due to injury, he is the deep threat Baltimore sorely needs.  He is a game time decision this week, but he is worth stashing on the bench in you have room for him.

Matthew Stafford, QB (Det) - I said it last week that he was primed to come back strong and he did.  Don;t be discouraged by his completion percentage, that is expected to be low after missing 7 games due to an injured shoulder.  In fact, he started off real slow, but once he started to get his rhythm back with his receivers, everything started clicking.  Pick him up while you can.
